Visslaとサーフライダーファウンデーションが『アップサイクルコンテスト2018』を開催！

VISSLAとサーフライダーファウンデーションが『CREATORS & INNOVATORS UPCYCLE CONTEST 2018』が開催！

身の回りにある中古品やオブジェクトをアップサイクルしインスタグラム上に投稿して行うコンテスト。

波に乗る為のクラフト（例えばサーフボード、ハンドプレーン、パイポ、フィン、アライア等。）を作り、その製作過程を記録したビデオ、あるいは３～６枚の写真を、ハッシュタグ#creatorscontestを付けてポストすると言うイベントも今年で4回目を迎えました。

2015年の第1回コンテストでは日本からエントリーの児玉譲二氏がファイナリストに選出され見事準優勝、また昨年の第3回コンテストではサーフライダーファウンデーションジャパンアンバサダーの石川拳大氏が、発泡スチロール廃材からサーフボードを製作しファイナリストとなり、アメリカで行われた受賞式典へ招待されました。

1,000名近いエントリーが集まった今大会で見事優勝に輝いたのは、廃棄されたアルミ缶など150ピースにレコード盤製フィンをセットしサーフボードを製作したTitouan La Droitte。

準優勝のKorey Nolanは日本でもお馴染みのダンキンドーナツの廃棄カップを700ピース使用したサーフボード、3位のFrancois JaubertやDane Whitesideも果物＆ビールパッケージや古材を使用した作品を制作し、個性溢れる作品が集まる素晴らしいイベントとなりました。
